Public Rights of Way (PRoW)
There are 19 miles of footpaths and bridleways in the Hannington Parish and many link with surrounding towns and villages. The Thames path runs for a short distance along the edge of the parish at Hannington Wick.
All public rights of way are maintained by Swindon Borough Council. You can either report issues direct to them, or contact the Parish Clerk with a full location and the problem encountered, who will then report the issue.
You can also view public rights of way via My Maps on the Swindon Borough Council website (where you will also be able to see the PRoW numbers). Enter your postcode and then your property, then select the ‘My Maps’ tab to view maps (make sure Public Rights of Way on the left is ticked).

Public Houses
The The Jolly Tar is in the heart of the village right in the centre on Queens Road. It serves excellent food and has four B&B rooms.
The Freke Arms is in the small Hamlet of Swanborough near the edge of the parish on the B4019. Sadly, as of June 2026, this pub is closed.
